As the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is set to launch on October 17, the Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring will be finally able to try the Redstone 4 builds. Almost one month ago, Microsoft announced the Skip Ahead ring which allowed the selected Insiders to try the Redstone 4 builds before the public release of the Fall Creators Update. Now as Windows 10 Fall Creators Update has reached RTM status, the company is planning to release the Redstone 4 builds to the Fast Ring Insiders.

Microsoft has today confirmed the news on the Windows Mixed Reality Developers forum that the Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring may begin to receive Redstone 4 builds as soon as October 10. The company states that the Windows Mixed Reality developers should change the ring because the starting October 10, Microsoft will be rolling out the Redstone 4 builds.

Microsoft is also expected to detail the Skip Ahead ring and the latest app updates for Windows 10 Mobile in the blog post. If you would like to stick with the Fall Creators Update, you should opt out your device from the Insider program before the machines download the Redstone 4 build as rolling back to the previous installation of Windows 10 is going to be a time-consuming task.

If you would like to keep your machine away from the Redstone 4 builds, you’ll need to update the Windows Insider settings and select the Release Preview Ring option – “just fixes, apps, and drivers”. Remember that the Windows 10 Redstone 4 builds will be buggy but it won’t contain any new features as the update is in the early stage of development.
