It has been months since WhatsApp started testing a separate app for the businesses. The WhatsApp business app for Android was recently leaked online detailing the features of the app. The users can however only try out the WhatsApp Business app if the business has been approved by the social media giant.

WhatsApp Business app is available on the Google Play Store for select beta testers and it is also coming to other mobile platforms including Windows Phone. In a survey, WhatsApp has listed three mobile platforms; iPhone, Windows and (Android) that are likely to receive the business app, as you can see in the below screenshot.

It is however unclear whether or not WhatsApp will release the business app to the Windows Store. Although, as the company, since the beginning is supporting its Windows Phone app, a full-featured WhatsApp business app may be coming soon to the Windows Store.

WhatsApp’s Business program is the company’s first step for making money from the free messaging service. BookMyShow India has already partnered with WhatsApp to test the business feature and it will send movie ticket updates via the app to its customers.

WhatsApp is still supporting the Windows Phone app while the other social media platforms such as WeChat has already given up on Microsoft’s mobile platform. WhatsApp is however not working on the UWP app for Windows 10. Nonetheless, the new business app for Windows Phone makes sense as it could be a revenue source for WhatsApp.
