We had earlier reported that Amazon is working on its own Voice Assistant Alexa. Today the company confirmed that it has entered into a partnership with Microsoft to bring the Cortana Skill to Amazon’s Alexa and Vice Versa. The announcement of the partnership will be announced coming Wednesday by the tech giants.
This would mean that the Cortana Skills will now be made available for Alexa as well. This partnership should come as great news for Cortana lovers who use the Digital Assistant on their devices which include Tablets, laptops, Xbox and Windows 10 Mobile devices.
With this partnership users will be able to Invoke Alexa using Cortana and also use Cortana Skills with Alexa. This facility, the companies says will be made available to users by end of this year. Â Amazon’s Bezos confirmed that Cortana has native integration with Outlook and Office Suite and Alexa users can get this without having to buy a dedicated speaker which runs Cortana.
Amazon’s Alexa Speakers are now accounting for 70% of the market share while Cortana has a user base of 145 Million users with Windows 10 installation. Both the tech giants are also working with car makers on getting their AI’s to be integrated in vehicles.
