Microsoft is now rolling out a new update to Windows Maps app on Windows 10 PCs and Tablets. The update is available for Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring with skip ahead option enabled. The updated version is not available for Windows 10 Mobile as recently Microsoft moved its mobile operating system to feature2 branch.

Windows Maps has been updated to version 5.1708.2273.0. The latest update brings several improvements and bug fixes. With the latest update, Microsoft has improved the Fluent Design elements in the Maps app.

The blue effect has been improved and the app looks much better in terms of interface. Furthermore, there is a noticeable change on the menu as the UI has been tweaked slightly.

The changelog also reads that bugs have been fixed and performance is slightly better now. You can download the update only if your machine is in the Windows Insider Program with Skip Ahead option enabled.
