Just a few hours ago, Microsoft pushed Windows 10 Mobile Build 15237 to Windows Insiders in the Fast Ring. The update has just bug fixes and minor improvements but one of the interesting change is Skip Ahead option.

Due to a mistake made by Microsoft’s dev team, Windows 10 Mobile has got the Skip Ahead option. Microsoft has earlier confirmed that Skip Ahead is only available for PCs but Build 15237 has brought the change to mobiles.

On your handset, navigate to Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Insider Program and there you will find a new option “Skip Ahead”. It lets you skip to the next Windows 10 update but it won’t work on mobile as confirmed by Microsoft.

However, you can receive all latest first-party app updates after enabling the option on your Windows 10 Mobile. Many Windows Insiders are able to receive new updated versions of after they toggled the option.

Brandon LeBlanc recently made it clear that Windows 10 Mobile won’t get anything special via the Skip Ahead option. It is a bug and it will be removed with the next build. Are you able to receive new app updates after enabling the skip ahead option on your Windows Phone?

odd, my Lumia 950 isn’t showing the skip ahead option. Maybe they released an update to the settings app already that removed it?

No Skip Ahead option on my 950XL, just Fast or Slow Ring options. Probably pulled already . . .

  • Milan Nakum

Can’t see that option in my Lumia 640XL too.

    • Mayank Parmar

Because Microsoft has removed the option.
