Windows Insiders are desperately waiting for a new build for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 PCs. Even last week Microsoft failed to release a preview to Windows Insiders. And things haven’t changed today either.
Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar confirmed on Twitter that won’t be any builds for Mobile and PC today. This time she has provided the reasons on why there have been no new builds last week and today.
Three reasons why Microsoft don’t release builds
- Not enough data/fb from canary or self host — we need more time for the product team to file blocking bugs.
- Build is not quality — product or upgrade bug is a build blocker.
- Waiting for a team to check in an important fix or feature (usually for blocking issues from step 2).
The future builds for Windows 10 PCs and Windows 10 Mobile will only have bug fixes and improvements. The Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 PC will introduce a Fluent Design language while Windows 10 Mobile won’t receive a single new feature.
Microsoft is testing some builds internally and might release an update to Windows 10 PCs and Windows 10 Mobiles later this week. Again, the builds won’t contain any major changes as the development of features for the Fall Creators Update has come to an end.
