Dell announced the Latitude 7000 2-in-1 laptops with Windows 10 at CES 2017. Now the device is available for purchase. It is the world’s first laptop that supports wireless charging. The new Dell’s Latitude 7000 series is said to be thinnest and lightest.
Dell has partnered with Witricity to enable the wireless charging feature. Dell’s Latitude 7285 is now shipping and it starts at $1,999. “Some of the design choices that matter to commercial customers are things like optimized displays that reduce power consumption and extend battery life; removable hard drives for data security; IR camera location for video conferences; Wi-Fi antennae placement; and use of lightweight carbon fiber materials for durability,” said Dell’s SVP Kirk Schell in a statement.
Dell Latitude 7285 comes with 12-inch and with the resolution of 2880×1920. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It features 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD. It is powered by dual-core CPU clocked at 3.2GHz with 4MB of cache. It also comes with Intel GD 615 Graphics GPU inside. Dell noted that the portable keyboard extends the battery life and it a laptop-like typing experience, featuring a wireless charging option with a mat that delivers 30W of power.
