Ubuntu is now available on the Windows Store and you can download the app on your Windows 10 PC. Last month, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 and openSUSE Leap 42 were released to the Windows Store.
As promised by Microsoft in annual Build 2017 Conference, some new Linux software is coming to the Windows Store. As described on the Windows Store, Ubuntu on Windows allows one to use Ubuntu Terminal and run Ubuntu command line utilities including bash, ssh, git, apt and much more.
To use Ubuntu Terminal and run Ubuntu command line on Windows 10
- Turn Windows features on or off and select “Windows Subsystem for Linux”.
- Click OK.
- Reboot
- And use this app.
The app is only available to Windows Insider machines. If you want to try the app on your PC, make sure you have Windows 10 Build 16190+ installed.
