Ola Cabs which is a similar service to Uber and also its biggest rival in the India has suspended its Windows App development. This information has been officially confirmed by Ola Cabs when they replied to @rianext06 on twitter regarding the app.

Ola cab said that they regret to inform that they have stopped any new developments for Windows platform which means no new updates will be provided to the existing app on Windows devices. They said that you can continue to download & install the app in Windows devices but the app won’t receive any new updates. Ola share pass feature is not applicable for windows and they would notify once they have an update for the app in the future.

Ola Cabs is a popular alternative because of its wide reach in India and is available in cities even where Uber is not available. Ola users on Windows Phone (which are very small) would be disappointed by another setback. Some windows Phone apps are being continuously getting dropped by various popular service around the world which are largely popular on smartphone rather than Tablets/PCs. Those services which are generally popular for tablet/PCs do bring their UWP apps to Windows Store but not for Windows 10 Mobile right now.
