Microsoft had announced a brand new Skype experience a couple of days back for Android and iOS devices. This update for Skype is now available to users who sign in as insider for the preview of the app. While announcing it Microsoft has launched a series of introduction videos for this new skype experience and described it as being built from the scratch.
The new Skype can be considerd as an attempt from Microsoft to bring their popular video calling service to mainstream with the likes of WhatsApp, Snapchat, Messenger etc. The new experience has three main tabs on its first page: Find, Chat, and Capture.
Capture allow users to instantly share their pictures or videos after editing it which is pretty much similar to Snapchat. The Captured videos are shown to your friends and families in a new Highlights section which can be seen as microsoft’s version of instagram stories and is called Highlights of your day. Skype Highlights are up for up to seven days. The new app allows you to make your video calls more expressive.
The new Skype app will be available for only those users who joins in Insider program for Android and iOS on the store. Android users can download the apk directly from here.
