Facebook is currently making changes to its photo albums which will let users drop in virtually any post from the social network. The latest changes will include the new text posts and check ins. The company is currently planning to make it easier to add friends as contributors to create shared albums by adding the ability to display “featured album” on the profile.
Facebook wants the users to keep albums as a place to dump scraps of daily life. The changes are seen as a way to make Facebook sharing more easy and on lines of Instagram given the success of the Instagram Stories feature.
Facebook is also planning to include Notifications option to let users receive notifications when a friend adds updates which would make it more personalised feed within the app.
Currently the feature is rolling out to users on Android starting today and should be available to users on iOS and desktop versions of the app very soon.
