Microsoft yesterday announced the new Windows template Studio which is online app creation tool to allow developers to quickly build Windows Universal Apps. Windows Template Studio in Visual Studio makes it easier for developers to create new projects that target the Universal Windows Platform.

The developers need to follow the below four steps to create a project:

  1. Need to select between Standard Layouts and predefined controls.
  2. Select the structure of your UWP app with in house and third party support.
  3. Select which pages that make sense for the app that are tried to being created.
  4. Easily add features such as background tasks with one click.

Microsoft has also confirmed that it will be open sourcing the Windows Template Studio and will be releasing update every 6 weeks.
