Facebook is releasing a new update for its Official Instagram app. The company has announced the Face Filters as the latest addition to the company’s features cloned from Snapchat.

The company is launching in total of 8 face filters and more will be added to the app in the next update. The 8 filters can be used by users on Instagram Stories, Videos and Boomerang. Users who have already used or using Snapchat will not be finding much difference between the Snapchat’s and Instagram’s Face Filters.

The company has however gone in detail and has brought a level of craft to the implementation of filters to the Instagram app. The company is also adding a new rewind feature to Boomerang and hashtags to stories along with the new Face Filters.

The company plans to release location filters for Instagram Stories which will allow users to add a location to their story, this feature is currently under internal testing by the Instagram team.

The Face Filters option is currently being rolled out for users on Android and iOS and should be available for Windows 10 users very soon. Currently there is no timeline given for the option to be available on Windows but we will be updating this article once we have more info on the availability of the Face Filters feature.
