The Bing Maps team at the Build 2017 announced that they are planning to release several new features for developers and enterprise customers. The latest update for Bing maps v8 which brings in support for fully customisation map styles that allow developers to reflect their brand colours on the map and show or hide elements as they see fit.

Keeping this in mind the Bing Maps Team has announced a new truck routing service codenamed as “Project Johannesburg” for professional transportation. The new service takes into accound the truck attributes and preferences.

Apart from the above the Bing Maps team has also added some more Projects with codenames “Abu Dhabi”, “Nanjing”, “Wollongong” and “Hurghada”.

With Project Abu Dhabhi users can preview an advanced implementation of a distance matrix API.  Project “Nanjing” provides time specific isochrones for the most accurate search across time and space by describing the area that can be reached with a given mode of transportation.

Another Project “Wollongong” implements an API that allows to provide a score for attractiveness of a location based on the number of amenities etc.

Project “Hurghada” is another vehicle tracking solution for small to medium sized team and you can deploy the solution into your own Microsoft Azure Subscription.
