At Build 2017 Developer Conference, Microsoft has officially announced that OneDrive will get the most-awaited feature with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Microsoft has confirmed that OneDrive Files On-Demand (formerly placeholders) feature is coming to Windows 10 later this year.

The feature was available until July 2013, and was pulled back then. Microsoft was in plans for making OneDrive available offline since last October. And was discussed the same on Ignite Conference in a session for One Drive.
