Microsoft recently hosted their #MicrosoftEDU event and announced Windows 10 S and the Surface Laptop. Though exciting for the tech enthusiasts, they failed to generate much interest from the consumers. Today they have sent out invites for their next event.

The event will be held in Shanghai, and will most probably be a hardware focussed show. Microsoft’s Panos Panay send out the following tweet and confirmed that it will indeed be a hardware event,

Thus one thing is confirmed, there’ll be some new devices. While not confirmed, we are almost sure that it’ll be the Surface Pro 5 and it will probably be just a hardware refresh, with nothing new. We may also get a new Surface Book 2, but that’ll not happen probably.

Will we get some phone news? Perhaps a peek into Microsoft’s mobile plans? With Satya Nadella sending mixed signals about Microsoft’s new mobile device, we are not at all hoping for the Surface Phone. Expect more of Microsoft’s mobile plans to be revealed in the Build event than the Shanghai event.
