Facebook owned WhatsApp’s version of Snapchat Stories has now over 175 Million daily users within a period of 10 weeks of its availability. The company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg today announced on Facebook’s Q1 earnings call that Whatsapp Status now has around 15 percent of the 1.2 billion users on the messaging application.

The number of daily users of WhatsApp’s Snapchat Stories feature in now having more active users than its Clone Snapchat which is now second to another Facebook owned company Instagram.

WhatsApp Status lets users share or post photos and videos for their contacts to see, which disappears in 24 hours after posting. The WhatsApp Status now works along with the Old Text Status which was removed by later added with a new name “About” to the messaging application.

The success of WhatsApp Stories feature in the countries were Snapchat hasn’t caught up has made the messaging application the first popular app to offer Stories in many countries.
