Twitter today released a new update for its App on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. The app has been bumped to new version 5.7.1.0. The update comes with major new changes to the Windows 10 application both on PC and Mobile.

The company has now removed the Images and links from the count of character limit of 140 with the latest update. Users now have the full character limit of 140 to be used. Any addition of Images and Links will no more be counted as 140 characters – Users names are no longer integrated on the tweet when we respond to a tweet. The team has also added a new “Tweets and answers” Section in the User Profiles Page.

For users on PC, if you hold down to the “Ctrl” key and click on a tweet it will open in a new window. The twitter team has also improved the display of images and video to the “Twitter Moments” section of the application along with bringing in support for multiple timeline to the live event pages.

These features were already rolled out to the Twitter app on Web, iOS and Android and now the same is being made available to all Windows users on PC and Mobile. The update is currently rolling out hence might not be available just yet for all users especially on Mobile. Do let us know if any of you have already received the update on your Mobile in the comments below mentioning your Region and Model of the Smartphone.
