Samsung recently announced their Galaxy Book series of 2-in-1 devices that competes head on with Microsoft’s Surface line-up. While the devices seemed impressive, the date of availability was not known.

Now Samsung has announced that the devise will hit the market from April 21. Powered by Intel’s Kaby Lake series of processors, the Galaxy Book packs in quite a punch. There are two models available, one with a 10.6″ screen and the other with a 12″ one. The latter will be a more powerful device than the former. Both will feature Samsung’s S-Pen technology for more productivity.

The Galaxy Book competes directly with Microsoft’s Surface and Surface Pro devices. Interestingly, Microsoft is also marketing the device along with Samsung. While this may anger some fans, in the long run it spells success for Microsoft. They have been able to push OEMs into the 2-in-1 device factor and thus making Windows relevant in that sector.
