After moving out of Preview with the last couple of updates, the Skype team has pushed the app to the users on Xbox One. The app is now available for download for Xbox One users apart from Windows 10 Desktop and Mobile users.

The new version of Skype is on similar lines to the Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 version and comes with a dark theme to match the other Xbox Apps.  The app is basically built to take advantage of the controller and allowing Xbox users to make calls and add new contacts by using the “X” button in the Skype app.

Microsoft has also integrated Cortana into the Skype app for transcription purpose for users can now speak their messages into the text input box using traditional text based instant messaging.

The Universal Skye app can be found in the Apps section of the Xbox one Guide but will be available only if you have the Skype app installed on your PC or alternatively you can search for the Skype app on the Xbox Store.
