With lot of Social applications moving towards the Goal of Digital India it makes sense for developers to integrate ability to send and receive money directly via the chat interface. This facility is already available with Apple’s iMessage, Facebook Messenger does the same in the US and now the Facebook Owned company WhatsApp is working on bringing the same facility to its application for users in India.
The firm is planning to utilize the Unified Payments Interface/UPI system which is a pre existing payments system which is used by several banking services in the region. For the firm to utilize the UPI system the company plans to hire digital leads who are well versed with working with UPI, Aadhar and BHIM.
