Windows 10 Creators Update will be rolling out to Windows 10 PCs and Tablets in April. Microsoft will introduce a new API for the Edge Browser with the Windows 10 Creators Update. Microsoft Edge will allow you to make payments easily on the web with payment request API in Edge Browser. It offers a smooth payment experience as the browser will the integrate with Microsoft Wallet.
The developers will be able to take advantage of the Payment Request API. It will benefit the users as you will be able to buy products easily on Windows 10 apps. The app developers will be able to streamline the checkout process in their UWP apps.
If your device is already integrated with Microsoft Account, basically the Payment Request API will let you make payments easily using the payment methods saved on your Microsoft Account. For example, if Amazon enables the new API support, you will be able to purchase products easily on a secured environment using the payment methods saved on your Microsoft Account.
However, the Payment Request API is still new and the big companies such as Amazon, Ebay haven’t enabled the API support yet. Microsoft has published a detailed guide for developers and you can read more about it here.
