Microsoft is frequently releasing updates for Windows 10 Mobile Operating System but the company is no longer adding any new features to the operating system. We are expecting new features for Windows 10 Mobile with the Windows 10 Redstone 3 update which will be released later this year. However, Microsoft has no plan to bring an important feature to Lumia and Windows Phones.

Microsoft’s employee has now confirmed that the company is not working on bringing the VoLTE support to Lumia phones. VoLTE stands for voice over LTE and it’s more or less exactly what it says on the tin. It’s voice calls over a 4G LTE network, rather than the 2G or 3G connections which are usually used. Windows Phone users in India have been requesting Microsoft to bring the VoLTE support for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL for a while now. VoLTE support is very important for any smartphone users in India as most of the Mobile Operators are only supporting VoLTE connection. It is worth mentioning that there are many Android smartphones available in India under $50 which supports VoLTE.

A small firmware update for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL would able to enable the VoLTE support. However, Microsoft seems to be very busy with Windows 10 PCs and the company has no plan to enable small features on Lumia phones.
