Earlier we have reported that Telegram is planning to launch Voice Calls for users. The company is currently testing the Voice Call Functionality internally and is available for Beta Testers on Android.

The first notable feature of Telegram call setting is the ability to control who can call you since Telegram allows you to connect with Strangers via usernames. The company is working on letting users permit calls only from those on the contact list or simply block all calls or block calls from individual users.

Another aspect of Telegram Voice calls is the ability to verify that the call is encrypted. The app generates and image and text which gets compared with the image and text generated on the opposite person’s device. If the same is matching then the call gets encrypted.

Currently the calling feature is getting tested by Android Beta users and should be available for users on all platforms sooner than later.
