WhatsApp Team after releasing the “Status” feature to all platforms and users simultaneously has pushed out a new update for its Beta App on Windows Phone. The App has been bumped to new version 2.17.82. The update comes without any changelog.
But the Team is currently working on adding the Old Status option again but with a new Name. Below is the changelog:

- WhatsApp beta for Windows Phone restores the Old Status! now called as Tagline feature! (The feature is currently Hidden)
- Added Tagline privacy settings. (Currently Hidden)

The feature is being added back since lot of users have requested it to be available. The company is planning to have both the “Tagline” and “Status” Feature available for users of WhatsApp as confirmed by @WABetaInfo
“Obviously you will be able to use Status and Tagline. WhatsApp won’t remove Status.”
