Over a period of time since the launch of Redstone 2, Microsoft has pushed out several new features for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile for Insiders in the Fast Ring for testing and feedback on performance.

One such feature which has not yet been released to Insiders for Testing is the “Text Messages Auditing Feature” which is under testing internally as per the MSDN Documentation.

The “Text Messages Auditing Feature” should enable archiving and logging of messages for an easy restore on devices with Windows 10 Mobile. Below is the brief description mentioned in the documentation MSDN.

“The Messaging configuration service provider is used to configure the ability to get text messages audited on a mobile device. This CSP was added in Windows 10, version 1703.”

“AuditingLevel

The following list shows the supported values:

  • 0 (Default) – Off
  • 1 – On

Supported operations are Get and Replace.

Auditing

The above feature is currently not available in the last Build released to Windows 10 Fast Ring, but we should soon see the feature released to Fast Ring Insider in the coming Insider Preview Windows 10 Build for Mobile.
