So finally, almost after 8 years of initial launching WhatsApp now reinvented WhatsApp Status feature. Till today we are only able to set limited number of words as over status but from now on we can put any video or photo as statuses.

It’s been a while since we have seen glimpse of this feature in WhatsApp beta version. And now finally company made an official announcement of this feature.

WhatsApp stated In their blog post that

“Starting today, we are rolling out an update to status, which allows you to share photos and videos with your friends and contacts on WhatsApp in an easy and secure way. Yes, even your status updates are end-to-end encrypted.”

Not only Android and iOS even Windows phone beta users have already seen glimpses of it in the past, with some functionality of the new and updated “status” feature already having been available to testers.

Of course here it’s worth to mention that this feature is as same as the Instagram and Snapchat story. Maybe it’s company’s next move to go head to head with Snapchat.

In addition company is also testing couple of other new features such as message recall, live location share in group, revoke messages and more. Maybe company will announce these features later on.

But this new status update is live for the

Windows, iOS and Android users from today and should be available to all users soon. You can get the latest update on Windows Phone from here.
