EE, one of the UK’s largest mobile network operator has announced today that it is going to discontinue its app for two major platforms, Windows and Blackberry and will be shifting its focus towards its App on Android and iOS.
The My EE app received an update to both Windows and Blackberry platforms informing users via a notification that the app will no longer work on Windows or Blackberry phones. This is what the company has to say:
“We’re sorry. If you have a Windows or BlackBerry phone, you’ll no longer be able to manage your accounts via the app. Don’t worry! You can upgrade, check your bill, see your usage, top up, get add-ons and more online.”
The company has requested the users to log on to their website on the devices and suggests the Windows users to Pin the website to their Start Screens for easy access.
EE is another major brand which joins a growing list of brands including the likes of Amtrak, Delta Airlines, Samsung Smart Things and Runtastic which have recently abandoned the Microsoft’s Windows Platform.
For our UK user’s who use the My EE app, are advised to Pin the company’s website to the start screen or plan to buy an Android or iPhone to continue using the Mobile App.
