Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15031 to the Insider in the fast ring. Build 15031 have couple of new features and number of enhancement over the last public preview build.
One of the notable new feature found in this build is the Picture and Picture concept. Microsoft named this new feature as Compact Overlay window.
Basically with this feature when user resize an app window and when it enters compact overlay mode it’ll be shown above other windows so it won’t get blocked. The best part is that compact overlay windows work just like normal windows in all other ways so app developers can tailor the experience.
However not all the apps can take advantage of this new feature right now but the updates to the Movies & TV app and Skype Preview app will take advantage of compact overlay windows in the near future.
Back in April 2016 some of the information about this feature was leaked and now Microsoft finally implemented this feature and make it available to the Windows Insider in Fast ring with build 15031.
This feature will be available to the all users with the Windows 10 Creators Update which is scheduled for the April 2017. Stay tune to Windows Latest for more updates.
