Microsoft has now officially announced the new Game Mode for Windows 10. The software giant in a blog post detailed some of the upcoming gaming features for Windows 10 and Xbox One. The Game Mode in Windows 10 is going to offer increased performance for games by making it a priority.
According to Microsoft the Game Mode will work for both Win32 games and games which you can download from the Windows Store. This is what Microsoft had to say about the Game Mode:
“Our goal is to make Windows 10 the best Windows ever for gaming. With the Creators Update, we’re introducing a new feature called Game Mode. Windows Insiders will start seeing some of the visual elements for Game Mode this week, with the feature being fully operational in builds shortly thereafter. Our vision is for Game Mode to optimise your Windows 10 PC for increased performance in gaming. This is a big update for Windows; we’re looking forward to Insiders getting their hands on this new feature for further testing, and we’ll have much more to share on what it is and how it works soon, so stayed tuned.”
The Game Mode was introduced in the Latest Windows Insider Preview Build 15007 for Fast Ring insiders, but is disabled by default. We hope that the Game Mode since it is officially announced will be available in the next Insider Preview Build for Windows 10 PCs. The Game Mode will be made available to all users once the Creators Update is released officially in April 2017.
