Slack yesterday pushed out an update to its Windows 10 Desktop app for PCs. The update has provided a new feature to the desktop app for Slack on Desktop. You will be able to now back up your Settings for the Desktop App, which generally is not the case with all desktop apps.

Generally you find the backup option of Settings for apps installed on Mobile. The Backed up feature available on Mobile has now been added to the Slack Desktop app for Windows 10. In some case if you happen to delete the Desktop app from PC still your login data will remain backed up to your PC.

Currently it is unclear whether the data is stored locally or otherwise, however we can say that the back up option makes it easier for users who have to uninstall and reinstall the app for some reason. The Back up option was already available for the Windows Phone Beta app users earlier, but now the company has offered the same option to its Desktop app which is one of the recommended options of Microsoft for a modern Windows 10 app.

The update for the Slack App for Desktop is live and you can get it by clicking the below link. Do let us know your thoughts on the new option provided by Slack, in the comments below.
