Last night quite an uproar happened over news that LinkedIn was killing off it’s old version of the app, and Windows Phone users quickly concluded that it included them too.

The confusion was not illogical as LinkedIn has never updated its abysmal app on Windows Phone for quite a few years and it is just awful. The app is quite old and there’s no feature parity with the app on iOS and Android. The news came as a shock to Windows Phone users as LinkedIn was recently purchased by Microsoft. People started shouting on Reddit and other places and LinkedIn finally answered. In a reply sent to MSPU, LinkedIn has confirmed that their app for Windows Phone is staying. The older versions of the app running on older versions of iOS and Android will stop working this month.

Though its a relief that LinkedIn decided to keep the Windows Phone app, it would be better if they updated it with a modern universal app for Windows 10.
