Xiaomi has confirmed that it is working with Microsoft to have the company’s Personal Assitant Cortana pre- installed on its Mi Mix Smartphone. Xiaomi and Microsoft had earlier entered into a Patent for Pre installing all Microsoft’s Office Apps on its  new forthcoming Smartphones.

Earlier we have also seen Samsung pre-installing some of the Microsoft applications on their Android apps which is a part of a partnership with Microsoft.

Xiaomi has now become the second company to have pre installed Microsoft’s Personal Assistant on its Smartphone. Microsoft earlier had also teamed up with Cyanogen OS Team to have Cortana installed on its OnePlus One Smartphone launched some time back.  The One Plus One had got the Personal Assistant Installed via an OTA update to the Smartphone.

The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi partnered with Microsoft and has sold around 1500 patents from Microsoft and in return, Xiaomi pre-installed a bunch of Microsoft applications on the new Xiaomi Mi Mix.

The agreement was made in the second quarter of this year, and Microsoft plans to build long-term partnerships with global leaders across the world with the goal of bringing the best user experience to the Mi Fans said Xiang Wang, Senior Vice President at Xiaomi.
