Even if the Windows Phone OS is dropped below 1 percent market still company want to develop the Windows 10 Mobile OS. Well, that’s not the news.
The Lumia Series is also dead. So what? Lumia is just hardware, and its dead, Not Windows 10 Mobile. Windows 10 Mobile has many OEMs now. There are several smart-phones apart from Lumia which run Windows 10. There is HP Elite X3, Alcatel Idol 4S and many more are coming in future. Who knows?
The news is Microsoft is not the in charge of the Windows 10 Mobile Update. Well, of course they are building it, but they are not in charge to update the Windows 10 Phones. However they can update the few OEMs but not all.
With Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft’s Windows As a Service practice meant that all Windows 10 devices could expect to receive updates at roughly the same time. But major update could be held back for couple of week. However the updates would eventually roll out to all phones in the end. And it’s OK!
In addition, Microsoft can still allow OEMs to leave their Windows phones completely unsupported. There are probably other Windows phones sold which are abandoned by their manufacturer despite the Windows As a Service program, which is a shame.
And there are several devices launched with Windows 10 Mobile but now they are not in good condition (as in market). Some of them are not even supporting the Windows Insider Program now. That’s bad. I don’t want to put any of the names here. But Alcatel’s Idol 4S and HP’s Elite x3 are the best Windows 10 Mobile devices.
So the conclusion is that Microsoft still wants to build the Windows 10 Mobile OS. And why they are doing? Actually the answer is in front of our eyes. They must have big strategy behind it. A Surface Phone? Re-branding Lumia next year? Who knows? All we can do now is just enjoy the latest Windows Insider build and wait for what’s coming?
