Earlier we had revealed that Microsoft is working on a competitor app for Slack, with similar features. The app was earlier named as “Skype Team”.Now a new report has leaked suggesting the company is planning to change the name to “Microsoft Teams”.

This is the same app which the company has been testing internally to compete with “Slack App”. We can also confirm that the company might reveal details officials about its “Microsoft Teams” app in the Surface Event to be held in less than 48hrs on Wednesday 26th Oct at NYC.

The Microsoft Teams app is basically targeted for working professionals similar to the lines of Slack App which is generally used by the working professional community which has gained popularity of late.

If the company does not give any details about the Microsoft Teams app on Wednesday’s event then we could expect the app to be released or officially confirmed on Nov 2nd which is the Office Event, Microsoft has planned.
