Its has been close to One year with the Official Release of Windows 10 Mobile and more than year and half after the release of First Insider Build Preview of Windows 10. The OS however is still having a total share of just 14% of Windows Smartphones.

Till last month Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 is still active on almost close to 90% of Smartphones which the company has already abandoned by not releasing any update to the Operating System a year ago. This has made the Windows Platform share to go down drastically due to lack of official release of Windows 10 to lower end smartphones resulting in poor sales of the new models.

However the good news is that on such a small base the Anniversary Update has soon reached 85%, which is also good news for developers who may already be working on releasing their apps based on the new Universal API.

Now with Redstone 2 already planned to be released to general Public by end of March 2017 the share of the OS on Smartphones might get increased from the current % of 14%.On the other side the Anniversary update is installed on more than 76% of PC all over the globe and the same might increase with the official rollout of RS2.

So What do you think, will the public rollout of RS2 will help in increasing the market share of Windows Smartphones by the end of Q2 2017.
