There is good news for people using wearables, Microsoft has confirmed through one of its engineers that it is working on implementing the GATT protocol notification in the operating systems which would be available for the developer by end of this year.

Clint Rutkas, the engineer who announced this news, explains:

Bluetooth equipment is working hard to add the APIs necessary to GATT servers and expect them to be available on previous compilations and SDKs Insiders program later this year. When these APIs are added to the operating system and SDKs, any developer can update their applications to add that support. Once the upcoming release of Windows is available, any app you want to use these new features will be enabled to update the shop.

For people who do not know about GATT it is the acronym for Generic Attribute Profile, and this defines the way how two Bluetooth devices support Low Power transfer information using concepts called services and features.
