VLC developer Hugo Beauzée-Luyssen confirmed via Twitter that they have submitted the VLC UWP App for Xbox One to the store. The app should be available for download in couple of days time.

The VLC Xbox one App supports UPnP and network shares browsing and also gives support for HTTPS and adaptive streaming, hardware decoding, and numerous codecs, making it the ideal client for a big-screen device such as the Xbox One connected to your flat screen.
Currently the app is not yet available for download. We will update this article once we have more info on the availability of the app on Xbox One.
