Last week we reported that the popular Shopping Application Amazon will be discontinuing its App on Windows Phone from Aug 15th. It sent a shock wave to all the Amazon Customers after knowing the same.

After receiving lot of requests from the loyal customers of Amazon to improve the performance of the App on Windows Phone, the company has released an official statement on the removal  and Re Launch of Amazon App for Windows 10 Mobile and probably Windows Phone.

As many customers are asking for an improved Amazon App for Windows Phone, we have to launch [a] new app.

Please rest assured our team is working on the new app. It may take some time but we will definitely get the new app soon.

We’ll soon be retiring the App you currently have on your Windows Phone, meaning its contents will no longer be updated. You’ll still have access to the App until 15 August 2016.

I’m sorry for any disappointment this may cause.”

“We are already working on it, and we will directly update you via email once it’s complete.”

So this is good news for all the Amazon Customers and people using Windows 10 that they might be able to use a New Universal Amazon App based on Windows 10 UWP. There has been no confirmed date and time given as to when the app will be launched on Windows 10 Mobile, but expect it to arrive at the earliest.
