Amazon recently announced that it was pulling for support it’s Windows Phone app and that the app would no longer be available to download from the Windows Phone Store July 25 onwards. Although it isn’t searchable in the Store, you can still download it through a direct Store listing link till the above said date.

Now, Amazon has announced that the app would disabled server-side from August 15, which essentially means that the app would stop working even if you have it installed on your device. In a statement to it’s customers, it said:

Our records indicate that you have previously installed the Amazon App for Windows Phone from the Microsoft App Store. We will be retiring the app you currently have on your device, meaning its contents will no longer be updated. You will still have access to the app until 15 August, 2016. We encourage you to visit Amazon.co.uk on your mobile browser where you will have access to our newest shopping features and customer experience.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Noting the rather poor-experience of the Amazon website on Windows Phone and no signs of even a UWP app, it seems that many people using a Windows phone would have a tough time accessing Amazon’s service in the near future.

Download and use the app while you still can from here.

Would you still use Amazon for your online shopping after the app stops working? Let us know in the comments below.
