Windows 10 has managed to become number one in the United States as it overtakes Windows 7. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 is running on more than 300 million devices.
David Storey, Edge developer at Microsoft, tweeted that Windows 10 is the top OS now by usage in USA along with Western Europe, Australia and few smaller markets.
According to web tracking company statcounter, Windows 10 has managed to reach at record market share of 28.82%, while Windows 7 dropped to 28.65% market share.
It is to be noted that these are one-day statics and they do not tell continue growth of a product. But keeping these figures in mind, we can say that Windows 10 is growing and most likely to overtake Windows 7 globally in just a matter of time.
Microsoft is offering free upgrade to Windows 10 till July 29th. This may boost the numbers of Windows 10 market share. Microsoft is also planning to introduce its next update, Redstone, a release which should help a significant increase in Windows 10 adoption.
