Today HERE announced the withdrawl of their app from to Windows 10 platform from the Windows Store on the 29th June 2016. Windows 10 Mobile now doesn’t have a very good free turn by turn GPS solution except for Windows Maps is not good for navigation.
A verified Microsoft employee Dave_MSFT on Reddit teased about a “exciting update” coming soon to the Windows Maps app in Insider Builds of Windows 10. It would also include an “improved drive mode” and be addressing the top feedback from Windows 10 users.
Top feedback for the Windows Maps currently are given below, so we are expecting improvements for these feedbacks:
- Maps do not show roads
- Maps app has very poor search results compared to Google Maps
