The popular cross messaging app, WhatsApp has taken a major decision. The messaging company announced that the will no longer support WhatsApp for Windows Phone 7.1 along with other outdating OS. Later this year, your devices will no longer able to use WhatsApp and you need to upgrade to a new smartphone with the latest operating system supported by WhatsApp.

According to WhatsApp, the following operating system will no longerĀ able to use WhatsApp starting later this year:

  • BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
  • Nokia S40
  • Nokia Symbian S60
  • Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
  • Windows Phone 7.1

We respect WhatsApp’s decision as all of above operating system lacks several APIs, So WhatsApp is not able to add new features what they offering to other operating systems. Do you still own a Windows Phone 7.1 smartphone? Comments below:
