We like windows phone as you do, that is why we are here at Windows Latest. Many unique features to it are not possible to come in other platforms Android, iOS. But we should not defend Windows Phone if we love it. As technology grows each day, each platform grows in parallel to that too. But if anyone slows to catch up he will be left behind. This is the motive of “Android vs Windows” comparison posts that we started. You can watch our previous post under the series,

Microsoft Office, if we talk about this, it’s the best innovated and created application ever that almost PC/laptop is running. I am sure you must have used this application in your career. We especially talk here about Microsoft Office apps,
We especially talk here about Microsoft Office apps,
- Outlook
- Word
- Powerpoint
- Excel
Just for curiosity, we wanted to try Microsoft apps on Android Marshmallow and Windows 10 Mobile. We used Nexus 6 and Lumia 640 XL device. In case you want to see the review of Nexus 6, running latest version you can check here.
After each app, we can say they are almost same in terms of performance, feature, usage. Due to some platform design limitations, there is some variation, but we know that as we involve in both platform.
But we like the view of Outlook native app in Windows 10 Mobile. The dark background theme looks stunning in Nokia’s Clear Black display technology. Using the floating keyboard is very good in usage.
The keyboard is OS feature so we should not be counting that in experience. We opened other apps like, powerpoint and tried to see whether we can view the slides correctly or not. Experience is excellent. Both platforms handle slides very well. Pinching and zooming are very smooth on both devices.
Microsoft Word is the next app we tried. Both apps have the same set of features that comes. Creating a new word document is very easy and working on them is also smooth. The swift keyboard on Android is very smooth is usage with Word.
We also tried opening Excel and Once Note too. Excel has the same experience on both.
We have once concern with OneNote, once your note has lots of Sections Groups and Sections then organizing them is kind of difficult in small screen sizes. Also One Note do have some sync issues in both the Android and Windows platform. Maybe upcoming updates fix that.
