A recent job listing at Microsoft hints ARM 64 bit architecture support in Windows 10.
The job posting shows two important features
- Windows 64 bit ARM 10 Architecture
- Windows 10 Redstone update
We can assume that Redstone feature will bring a lot of features to Windows 10 platform.
Once you install Win10SDK, open the directory “C/Program Files (x86)/Windows Kits/10/Bin, will find Windows 10 support architecture including
- ARM
- ARM64
- X86
- X64
Windows 10 PC that we used is X86 and X64 architecture, while ARM and ARM64 is Windows 10 Mobile supported architecture, Win10 Mobile currently uses the ARM architecture, which indicates that ARM 64 bit architecture Win10 Mobile also coming.
Qualcomm 808 and 810 processors support 64-bit processors, the latest release Lumia950 / XL using the processor, not play to their strengths. With the support of the upcoming ARM64, we’ll see a more powerful Win10 Mobile devices. Also, you may see the Windows 10 Mobile support Win32 applications.
According to ARM,
The ARMv8Â architecture introduces 64-bit support to the ARM architecture with a focus on power-efficient implementation while maintaining compatibility with existing 32-bit software.Â
So we will see new devices coming with ARM 64 bit support very soon.
