Windows 10 Mobile insider build is already out from couple of days now. We were first to make first impression available to our readers. We are looking closely on the windows 10 mobile builds and checking the performance of the device. As we wanted the users phones to run smooth before they go and install the build. So we will suggest to read all the detailed windows 10 mobile coverage on Windows Latest.
We will right now see the performance of Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM. As done with previous reviews we will divide the performance following categories,

First Impression
We already reviewed Lumia 630 with various Windows 10 Mobile Builds. We also shown a demo of the previous build 10586.71. As said in the previous build too the Lumia 630 is a mid range champ, thanks to the Soc 400 chipset. Its handling most of the task very well except a few cases where apps needs more ram, which unfortunately lumia 630 doesn’t have. If we talk about the current build 10586.107 impression on lumia 630, its same as previous build 10586.71. Overall we are very much impressed considering the price range and 6XX series device. We have no issues as such for day to day usage.
Performance Review
Before making review of lumia 630 we did a review of Nokia Lumia 520 running latest insider preview build 10586.107. While we are testing this device then we had a feeling in mind that we will see splash screen (first image when you open app) on apps for some time, but to our surprise a few apps that are very heavy like
- Here Maps
- Here Drive
- Adobe Reader
- One Note
only shows shows a fraction of splash screen time but they all worked very fine. Other apps like
- Calendar
- Messaging
- Photos
- File Explorer
- Setting
- Store
they open smooth and also worked very fine.
We opened most of the day to day usage apps like Windows Store. Its opens quickly and switching from various categories is really fast and smooth. Downloading and installing the apps has no issues at all. But there are few important point to note that,
- Some of the system apps like “Touch”, “Motion Data” etc they can only be installed on device memory.
- make atleast 2 GB of internal storage if you are planning to update to windows 10 mobile.
Windows Camera as mentioned is starting fast and image capturing time is also good. We earlier mentioned that our lumia 1020 has got some issues when updating the camera app, you can read it again here. Luckily there is no such issues here this time. But our lumia 630 is unable to enjoy living images feature. Although it has the “HDR On” feature but it doesn’t give completely the full Rich Capture editing feature as we get in lumia 730/640 XL.
Windows Maps performance is same as in earlier builds. However we faced sometime the GPS reception issues, not sure what could be the reasons but lumia 630 takes some time to detect the GPS.
Microsoft Edge browser is also working fine. We used it casually with 4 tabs open all time. Switching between tabs is fine. Pages loaded smoothly.
Multitasking and App Switching
In general switching between apps is easy, with very few loading and resuming windows for heavy apps and games. However if you have already some heavy apps like some games then multitasking causes phone to come in slight freeze state. Its always recommended to close those apps first. Apart from that lumia 630 jumps to app very fine.
Gaming
We always do dedicated gaming review separately, so in this deep review we have not check the games completely. While we are preparing the game review for the current build, you can still watch the previous build game review for Lumia 630.

As such there is no performance improvement in this build so mostly results will be same.
We tried four games opening test in this review with no playing. That we will soon do. The games we open are,
- Rail Rush
- Temple Run 2
- Dream League Soccer
- Asphalt 8 Airborne.
Game launching and opening time for some heavy games like Asphalt and Dream L S is a bit more. But once the game loaded it works smooth. Due to less GPU and RAM the games itself works in low graphics mode which we can’t change. This is sometimes good too as overall the game works smooth. :)
Final Verdict
At the end we can recommend to upgrade your Lumia 630 running windows phone 8.1, but not on primary device. As there can be any surprise. If you still want to upgrade make sure to take the complete back of phone. My device is primary device running one of my regular SIM on it amd
