You will not need to have an iPhone or Android phone to buy the Surface Phone as the new Microsoft Store will soon let you buy hardware directly from your Windows 10 device. Yesterday, Microsoft started rolling out the new Windows Store experience that rebrands the Windows 10’s built-in app store to Microsoft Store.

As expected, the new Microsoft Store app on Windows 10 will let you buy the hardware. It appears that Microsoft is in the process of unifying Microsoft Store and Windows Store. It is already possible to buy hardware and download apps from the Microsoft Store website. After all, it makes sense to offer the same experience across the website and the app.

This feature isn’t available for the PC, Mobile Insiders yet. It is however expected to be released in the coming days. The Microsoft Store will let you buy the new Windows Phones, first and third-party Windows 10 Devices and even Xbox console.

The Redmond based company is currently testing the Microsoft Store’s hardware section with the Xbox One Insiders. It goes without saying that it is a good move as Microsoft will be able to advertise the new hardware to the old customers on the Windows/Microsoft Store and expand the reach.
