Microsoft is currently rolling out New Firmware Update and specific UEFI for Surface Laptops owners who are part of the Windows Insider program. The Firmware and UEFI updates are available for Insiders in the Fast and Release Preview Rings.

The company started rolling out these updates on September 12th and some of the Surface Laptop owners who are part of the Windows Insider Program have confirmed having received the Updates.

There is no information mentioned on the Surface Update page as changelog but our friends at Windows Central have been able to gets their hands on the changelog. Below is the changelog of what’s being pushed out for Surface Laptop owners:

  • UEFI going from 136.1668.769.0 to 136.1736.769.0
  • Keyboard driver updates from generic 1.0.0 to 135.1713.0
  • System Aggregator updates from 1.0.0 to 135.1704.1.0
  • Trackpad driver updates from 1.0.0 to 2.122.2683.0

These update are being pushed out by Microsoft to get them tested by the Surface Laptop users part of the Windows Insiders program to get feedback in regards to any issues with the updates before rolling them out to the general public very soon.
