Windows 10 Mobile has recently got yet another bug and this time it is related to popular messaging app WhatsApp. The Windows Store on Windows 10 Mobile has many bugs, sometimes we cannot install or update the applications. Although with the last fast ring build for Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft had fixed almost all bugs on the Windows Store.

It appears that many Windows Phone users are unable to update WhatsApp. Other apps are updating but only WhatsApp is blocked. It seems to be yet another Windows Store bug and even Insiders have reported the bug in the feedback hub. So far, Microsoft hasn’t responded to the testers.

We discovered that when the users try to update WhatsApp on Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Store throws an error 0x80073CF9. Restarting the phone is not a solution but the workaround is quite easy.

You’ll need to uninstall WhatsApp and restart the phone. After uninstalling, WhatsApp will now install successfully on the Windows Phone. However, you may lose the chat history if it hasn’t been backed up. What if you just ignore the error? Within a short span of time, WhatsApp will completely stop working on your phone. Are you able to update WhatsApp on your Windows Phone?
