It’s been hours since Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile Build 15245 to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring. The Windows Insiders are now reporting that the new build 15245 broke the fingerprint reader on HP Elite x3 and Alcatel Idol 4 Pro.

As the fingerprint reader is not working anymore, it has become a pain to manually switch on the screen and use Windows Hello feature. Although the fingerprint readers still works but only when you manually turn on the phone’s screen.

It is quite surprising that Microsoft didn’t even bother to mention this major bug in the list of known issues. The fingerprint scanner is very important for security and it is also one of the best features on the HP Elite x3 or Alcatel Idol 4 Pro.

As we are close to the public release of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the company would stop mentioning the known issues in its blog post, Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc confirmed on Twitter. However, the change is apparently for PCs but now it seems Microsoft is also not going to mention Windows 10 Mobile preview builds known issues.

While on other hand, we should not forget that Fast Ring builds do have some annoying bugs and Fingerprint reader problem is one of them. Is the Fingerprint reader working on your Windows Phone? Let us know in the comments below.
